"Imagination is more important than knowledge"

Today my Mom, Corie, Camdyn and I decided to go tour the Mystery Castle at the foothills of South Mountain. It was built by Boyce Luther Gulley. He started it in 1929, and finished it in 1944. Mr. Gulley moved to Az from Seattle, Wa. The reality of dying was thrust upon him and not wanting to live a life of quiet desperation, he came here for soul searching and creativity.
In his heart he always remembered happier moments with his little princess daughter MaryLou, they shared many happy moments on the shore building sandcastles in the sand. As the tide would always wash away her castle, she asked her Daddy to build her a real castle that would never wash away!!!!
So here in the Az desert, he built her a native stone castle: 18 rooms with 13 fireplaces, a bar, a chapel, a room in between he lovingly nicknamed purgatory and many other unique rooms filled with southwestern touches and filled with antiques!!! Alot of the decorations have a Princess theme to it!!!!
Here is Mary Lou Gulley today, she is in her 80's and still conducts some of the tours herself!!! Today, she just said to our group that it was a fun place to call home. She did not even know it existed until her father died and she was 19, she has lived in the castle ever since.

One of the bedrooms in the home, with a pillow that reads "Princess sleeps here"!!!
There was an antique horse drawn carriage in one of the curio cabinets!!!
What an interesting castle!!! Life Magazine in the 1940's gave it the name Mystery Castle!!!

Big League Dreams

Mimi, Camdyn and I went to the Gilbert Big League Dreams today where they have eight replica baseball fields of famous major league teams.

This field was my FAVORITE by far, and if you ask why, its simply because it houses the best team. THE YANKEES!!!!

And they had a little park there so I thought it would be fun to play with Camdyn on the slides

Here we are at the bottom, she had a fun time going down the slide!

A day with Julia Ruth Stevens, or otherwise known as The Great Bambino's daughter

We decided to stop by Babe Ruth's daughter Julia's house to have her autograph her books for us today. She was the sweetest lady and is sharp as a tack for 92!
She told us about the very famous day her dad pointed to the grandstands and then hit his home run in the world series. She still remembers every detail!
We also talked about the movies that they made about her father, and how she didn't like them. She said they didn't portray him correctly and that she hated the fact that John Goodman played her dad. She said "He was too fat! My daddy wasn't that big!!" We all then had a good laugh.

It was very neat to be in a house with such great baseball history and memorabilia.

Camdyn's fun day with the horses....

Me, my Dad and Camdyn feeding the friendly horses
Camdyn and I waiting patiently and her quite excitedly for the horse to come over to us
She absolutely loved the horses! She wanted to pet them herself, but we were a little worried about what the horses would think. She had the best time helping Me and Mimi and Grandude feed the horses some carrots.

I would have to say this was the highlight of my day! Just getting to spend time with my family and see and hold Camdyn was a blast, but the excitement and screams of joy from her will have me smiling for a long time......

My Beauty Secrets....

So i'm getting this blog idea from my sis Corie. So here goes....

I like to start with Biolage shampoo and conditioner they make my hair less frizzy in this lovely Florida humidity, my next favorite thing in the shower is the 3 in 1 pecan passion body wash I use. It smells like a fresh baked cookie or pie!
After the shower I use my MAC makeup, I love all of it, especially the funky colored eye shadows I get to wear when I go out!
Then I top off with some Dolce and Gabbana perfume and some whipped delight summer body mouse. It leaves me with a slight shimmer and a delicous smell that lasts all day.

Thought I would give this blogging thing a try....

So after seeing my sister, my aunt and now even my mom start one of these I thought I would jump on the band-wagon.

Hmmmm where to start, for all of those who don't know, I live in Orlando, FL and work for Walt Disney World. I am pretty much working a dream job. I absolutely love it, however there is one thing that I would change. And that is being closer to my family. I have been with Disney for a little over two years now, and worked my way up to a management position after only 4 months with the company. I started work at Downtown Disney at Cap'n Jacks seafood restaurant, I then moved into my first management role at the Pleasure Island Night Clubs. Every night there was a new adventure. I saw things there you wouldn't think would happen at Disney!! In Sept. 2008 Disney decided that "the Clubs" were not working out, so they shut them down. Since the fist week of October 2008 I have been at EPCOT (Environmental Prototype Community of Tomorrow as Walt described it, or now Every Paycheck Comes On Thursday LOL). I work in the Germany Pavillion at the Biergarten. I am trying to learn how to speak German from the kids I work with. I have a few things down, but I try to learn and retain something everyday. I also hope to go to Munich, Germany for Octoberfest in 2010.
